There’s a performance of Mahler’s Second Symphony on in my town this weekend that I’m tempted to go to. If you like Julian’s Exiles / Galactic Milieu series far too much like me, then you’ll know from ‘The Pliocene Companion’ that the final part of Mahler’s Second is the music that Julian assigned to the end of the Galactic Milieu trilogy (which is basically sci-fi Paradise Lost).
